Overview
Welcome to our twelve-part video course on supervisor fundamentals! Sixty percent of frontline managers fail within the first two years in their role. Twenty-six percent felt they were not ready for the role, and 58 percent reported receiving no management training. What can you do to turn these numbers around? A crucial element to success is training as you, as a newly promoted supervisor, transition to roles that require new and frequently unfamiliar skills and competencies. Learning objectives include the beginning stages of the transition, leadership and communication, traits of effective supervisors, establishment of credibility and trust, transition from buddy to boss, and team meetings. This course also covers learning team members’ roles and duties, obtaining feedback from others, conducting team interviews, observing your new team in action, developing a team strategic plan, and avoiding common pitfalls.
